Two workshops in one? Twice the fun! Join us for an evening of learning and creating with Jess of Potted by Jess and Kelsey of Kelsey Haver Designs & Daisy. Whether you’re showering mom, celebrating spring with some girlfriends or making a one-of-a-kind Mother’s Day gift, this two-in-one creative workshop is the perfect way to spend an evening. Each ticket includes participation in a pottery workshop AND a modern handlettering workshop at the beautiful hiii event space in Canal Winchester. You’ll participate in one workshop and then after a short break, you’ll dive into a second engaging class. All supplies are included to make a handmade floral dish with a coordinating greeting card and gift tag! You’re also welcome to bring snacks to enjoy during class.

Lettering Workshop:

Included in the modern handlettering workshop is an intro to handlettering workbook, supplies to use and take home, a greeting card + matching gift tag and instruction and demos by Kelsey. The lettering portion of the workshop starts with an intro to modern handlettering and time to learn through the workbook. During this time, Kelsey will be around to provide instruction, tips and tricks and answer any questions. The workbook will include worksheets to trace, information and how-to’s for modern lettering. There will be paper and supplies if you’d like to make bookmarks and/or greeting cards with your newfound skills. You’ll also be receiving a greeting card + matching gift tag from Kelsey's shop, the Daisy Market Co., to address for Mother’s Day or another special occasion with your newfound skills!

Pottery Workshop:

Instead of giving your mom fresh flowers that will fade, give her a handmade floral dish that will last forever! In this special pottery class, you’ll spend the first hour crafting a floral-pressed ceramic dish, pressing fresh flowers into clay to create stunning, delicate impressions. No prior pottery experience is needed and this class is beginner to expert friendly.

What to Expect:

• You will create one Floral pressed dish, and the size is completely customizable. Dishes can be as large as a cereal bowl or as small as a trinket dish.

• Flowers That Last Forever: Instead of a fresh bouquet that fades, give mom a floral-inspired keepsake she’ll cherish for years.

• A variety of instructor-chosen florals will be provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own fresh or faux flowers. (For best results, fresh flowers should not be dried out.)

• You’ll have the option to apply color to your dish during class.

Additional Details:

• We will be using high-fire clay (cone 6), making your dish microwave, oven, and dishwasher safe after completion.

• Your dish will be taken to Jessica’s studio, where it will go through two firings—a bisque and a glaze firing. You will need to pick up your project in Hilliard at Jessica’s studio- or you can arrange for it to be shipped to your home for a small fee. The instructor will go over this option in class but shipping is usually around $8. Other pick up options may be available, including one in Canal Winchester. • All dishes will be glazed in a clear glaze, preserving the floral details. If you choose to add color in class, it will remain visible under the glaze.

• Pick-Up: Your completed dish will be ready for pickup 2-4 weeks after the class. Sometimes in cooler temps pottery can take longer to dry out, and this will affect how quickly your pieces will be done. You will be notified via email when it’s ready.

Things to Note:

No prior experience is needed as this event is perfect for beginners! Normally, these classes are $79 each, but for this night only, you can enjoy both for $107 for a single ticket or $200 for a pair (save $14 when booking together!) Spaces are limited, so reserve your spot today! 

This workshop is a fantastic Mother’s Day gift—whether you bring your mom for a creative night out, make her a handmade dish with floral impressions that last forever, or just treat yourself to an evening of artistry and fun.

Duration: The class typically runs 2 to 2.5 hours.

What to Wear: Please wear clothing that you’re comfortable getting clay on, or bring an apron. Don’t worry clay usually washes out easily!

Age Requirement: Participants must be 16 years or older.
